Cinnamon Toast Crunch
-

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is a popular General Mills breakfast cereal launched in 1984, featuring small, crunchy wheat and rice squares blasted with “Cinnadust”—a blend of real cinnamon and sugar. It is known for its sweet flavor, which leaves a cinnamon-flavored milk (“Cinnamilk”) in the bowl. A 1-cup serving contains 170 calories, 12g of sugar, and provides 16g of whole grain.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch was invented based on a child’s idea from a General Mills radio contest, developed by scientist John Mendesh and assistant product manager Elisabeth Trach in the early 1980s. The cereal debuted in 1984, originally featuring plain squares before adopting its signature “cinnamon swirl” look.Â
Beyond the original, several variations exist:
Chocolate Toast Crunch:Â A chocolate-cinnamon blend.
Strawberry Toast Crunch:Â A sweet, strawberry-flavored version.
French Toast Crunch:Â Shaped like tiny toast with a maple flavor.
Other Variations:Â Churros, Apple Pie Toast Crunch, and seasonal or regional variants like Cini Minis.Â
